Job Description Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The CNC Operator will be responsible for the following:Operating horizontal lathes and mills to produce Precision parts according to specifications.Compression Knowledge. • Conducting dimensional inspections and documenting results. • Monitoring machine functionality and ensuring proper operation. • Maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety protocols. • Reading and interpreting blueprints. • Performing setups and adjustments to ensure part alignment. • Manual adjustments through grinding or drilling. • Inspecting work for conformity to specifications using precision measuring instruments. • Other duties as assigned.Competencies: • Safety-focused • Service-oriented. • Business-focused • Self-starter • Dependable • Strong teamwork skills. • Results-oriented • Sense of urgencyPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESOperate manual machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate metal parts.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job.Monitor machine operations and listen for irregular sounds to diagnose malfunctions.Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performanceAdjust cutting speeds and feeds to optimize performance and reduce vibration.Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators.Load and unload material and align material to specsEnsure all parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards.Work closely with production Supervisors and quality teams to improve efficiency, cost, and safety.Handle special projects as assigned.Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Support other team members and perform additional duties as assigned.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move heavy objects. The employee may be required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The Manual Machinist will be capable of working well as a part of a team. With demonstrable understanding of machinery, cutter lifetimes, and material parameters, capable of operating lathes and or mills as well as loading and unloading from work holding. Must be able to stand 8 hours a day and lift 50 lbs un-assisted as well as adhering to strict process documentation and quality documentation.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
