Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position serves as the air permit, GHG, methane intensity, and federal regulations Subject Matter Expert (SME). They will actively engage in permitting and incorporating applicable environmental regulations to company operations across multiple states. The position supports all Kinetik assets including the gas plants, compressor stations, crude system, water system and the associated gathering systems. This position will assist operations in achieving Kinetik EHS goals with respect to environmental projects and compliance in our operations. A proven ability to solve problems, learn new material, adapt to change and be an effective communicator are key traits to success in this position. This position reports to the Environmental Projects Manager.

  • Assist management, operations, and project/maintenance teams as required to assure permitting and compliance with federal, state, local and corporate rules and regulations pertaining to operational environmental aspects and impacts.
  • Assist with organizing, planning, implementing, and auditing the environmental programs and policies for the operation, ensuring compliance as required by regulatory agencies and corporate policy.
  • Ensure permitting, implementation and compliance with Title V operating permits and New Source Review (NSR) permits, including help preparing the application, ensuring operations can comply with compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Ensure permits are accurate and complete for wastewater permits and site water permits, including the oversight of sample collection for accuracy.
  • Implement new processes and procedures, including improving efficiency for data collection and reporting.
  • Assist with the review of MOC's for environmental impacts, including NSR compliance, and documenting necessary information to the file or helping to initiate the permitting process when required.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, including but not limited to reporting releases and other potential non-compliances to all applicable agencies and internal personnel.
  • Assist with being point of contact for both regulatory agencies and operations on required reports, payments, inspections, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with compliance audits, as needed, and assist in facilitating resolution of action items from findings of reviews, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of existing and proposed regulations that affect the plant/compressor station/ pipeline site.
  • Communicate regular updates on ES&H releases, project updates, permit deviations, and enforcement status to the Environmental Project Manager for Operations management meetings.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining an effective filing system for all operational data to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • 5 plus years of applicable industry experience in Environmental Compliance.
  • High knowledge base of State and Federal environmental regulations and standards applicable to gathering systems, field compression, natural gas processing facilities, and NGL/Crude pipelines, including experience working with Regulatory Agencies such as TRC, TCEQ, EPA, etc.
  • Experience in gathering data for developing permits (NSR and TV) across multiple states and submitting in a timely manager as required by applicable Regulatory Agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company.
  • Project management: permitting and new process implementation
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer knowledge (MS Office)
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an area of Environmental study or an engineering discipline.
  • Experience and certification in Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) and other gas detection methods.

Working Conditions:
  • Travel to KNTK plants and worksites as needed (10 - 20%).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Live within a 75-mile radius of company facilities.
  • Available outside of normal working hours as needed for business necessity.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Ability to work effectively in all working conditions noted above.
  • Will require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. in a safe manner on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver's license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company.
