We are actively seeking an Electrical Superintendent in the Indianapolis, IN area to join our award-winning team.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  2. Identify all tools required for tasks.
  3. Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  4. Assemble and install electrical equipment.
  5. Terminate wires and cables to electrical equipment such as breakers and control panels.
  6. Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
  7. Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and ensure operational condition.
  8. Set up and maintain temporary power systems.
  9. Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.
  10. Maintain knowledge of electrical theory, including Ohm's law.
  11. Proficiently use cable pulling methods to run cable through specified pathways.
  12. Utilize specialized electrical tools like ohm meters, multi-meters, and terminating devices.
  13. Troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical malfunctions.
  14. Identify different types, gauges, and colors of cables and wires.
  15. Follow instructions correctly.
  16. Be reliable, accountable, and consistent in administrative processes.
  17. Work with lockout/tagout systems.
  18. Apply knowledge of Residential Building Codes/Electrical Codes.
  19. Box and pull Romex in compliance with local building codes.
  20. Follow all safety regulations.
  21. Attend work on time, follow schedule, and work overtime as needed with proper notification.
  22. Communicate effectively with professional interpersonal skills.
  23. Train and coach coworkers.
  24. Provide on-site direction and leadership to workers.
  25. Manage materials, deadlines, and quality control of installations.
  26. Follow all state/local building regulations per the National Electrical Code.

Experience and Qualification Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years documented field work or completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship program.
  2. Excellent understanding of the electrical industry.
  3. Experience diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical systems.
  4. Possess all responsibilities outlined.
  5. Able to meet physical requirements.
  6. Work at heights over 30 ft.
  7. Own required tools.
  8. Reliable transportation.
  9. Pass criminal background check and drug screening.


Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician.
  • Multi-family project experience.
  • OSHA 30-hour training.

Physical Requirements:
  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, lift as needed.
  • Speak English and hear for communication.
  • Use arms/hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work at heights, climb ladders, scaffolding with fall protection.
  • Work in all weather conditions with PPE.
  • Wear PPE including helmet, glasses, ear plugs, masks, vests, gloves, safety boots.
