PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

To perform this role, the following physical requirements must be met, with reasonable accommodations made when necessary:

  • Standing or walking for 75% of scheduled shifts.
  • Occasionally bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting during shifts.
  • Ability to use a ladder and/or step-stool when required.
  • Capable of lifting, moving, and carrying items up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to read, count, and write for accurate completion of documentation.
  • Must possess good hearing and vision to communicate effectively.
  • Manual dexterity to use hands for handling, typing, and reaching.

The Retail Assistant Manager is a crucial member of the store leadership team, collaborating with the Store Manager to develop a positive workplace aligned with Boot Barn's Mission, Vision, and Values. ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER DUTIES

  • Inspire and lead team members to create a culture of exceptional service and sales, establishing long-term customer relationships.
  • Set goals with team members, providing guidance, feedback, and recognition for outstanding achievements. Be present on the sales floor during busy times.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning by helping team members develop training plans aimed at improving operational and merchandising results.
  • Work with the Store Manager to adapt to changing business needs and execute operational plans efficiently.
  • Address localized customer needs and communicate effectively with the Store Manager.
  • Collaborate on community outreach initiatives that drive business during key events.
  • Guide team members in promoting the Boot Barn Credit Card and B Rewarded Loyalty Program, holding them accountable for achieving team goals.
  • Ensure merchandise levels and presentations meet customer needs, adhering to company visual presentation standards.
  • Monitor inventory and markdown compliance, ensuring timely processing of product receipts.
  • Partner with management on inventory shrink reduction strategies.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of the product range and support team development in these areas.
  • Complete all opening and closing procedures to company standards while complying with attendance policies.
  • Uphold all local, federal, and state laws as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit strong business acumen and comprehensive knowledge of store operations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all communications and interactions with customers, team members, and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
