Structural Analysis Engineer

Description:

A leading aerospace company specializing in the design and manufacture of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites is seeking a skilled Structural Analyst & Dynamicist to join their dynamic team. This innovative organization is revolutionizing satellite technology, offering faster launch times, cost efficiencies, and enhanced resilience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical analysis and design of space hardware, including system-level strength and dynamic analyses.
  • Perform trade studies to optimize system architecture for performance, simplicity, mass, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain mechanical/structural design documentation, including analysis reports, test procedures, and models.
  • Troubleshoot anomalies, conduct root-cause analyses, and recommend solutions.
  • Support production and testing activities, including static load and vibration tests.
  • Define system test requirements and support mechanical testing at various facilities.


Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in mechanical/structural analysis and testing of space hardware.
  • Strong background in stress and dynamics analysis, including FEM tools like NASTRAN (ANSYS, Hyperworks also considered).
  • Knowledge of sine/random vibration and acoustic testing for aerospace hardware.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
