Job Title: Mechanisms Engineer

Job Description

Participate in iterative mechanism design improvements based upon findings in test and production.

Perform tests and lead test teams. Develop testing requirements, materials, processes, and tooling (vibration, shock, TVAC, assembly).

Participate in and execute design, analysis, and system trade studies to determine mechanism requirements at system and spacecraft levels in terms of workflow simplicity, efficiency of handling and integration, test accommodation, and production speed.

Provide inputs to Design Engineering to optimize the manufacturing flow, cost, and layout, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.

Provide product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information; soliciting observations from operators and technicians.

Execute design and analysis using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.

Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies and failures, perform root-cause analysis, and provide resolution.

Provide manufacturing engineering support to Production.
