Description:

We are seeking IT Support Technician for a long-term contract at our Austin, Texas based client. In this role you will support an IT Support Teams efforts by providing computer support to users, the IT environment, and on-site contractors.

This position requires 4 days/week on-site indowntown Austin, Texas.

High Level Job Duties

Provide desktop computer support to Users and on-site contractors.

Support government issued mobile phone and tablets including setup and configuration,

Install and maintain computer equipment, printers, displays and other devices in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.

Assist the team in the rollout of new or improved services such as the implementation of the Recovery AD environment, new Recovery desktop and laptop image, building of new desktop images, rollout of patches and updates. Other duties as required.

Assist the IT Support team's efforts to develop desktop support processes and procedures specific to the IT Operation, based upon the existing procedures and guidelines.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years in hands-on desktop computer and technical support
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with PCs and peripherals.
  • Experience supporting Office 365 and the MS Office Suite
  • Experience troubleshooting basic networking issues.
  • Customer service oriented, professional demeanor
  • Able to convey technical details in layman's terms to non-technical staff.
  • Experience working in a matrix management environment.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience assisting with the daily activities of local and wide area network systems, perform diagnostics, schedule preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledge of installation, administration, and testing of network servers, operating system software, hubs, routers, switches, cabling etc.
  • Knowledge of installation, testing, and maintenance of local and wide area computer wired and wireless networks (Cisco Systems preferred).
  • Troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose/resolve network system problems.
