Scientific Drilling International is accepting online applications for the position of Shop Hand at our Midland/Odessa, TX location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the facility in a safe and proper working order.
  • Assist the MWD Coordinator with the testing of MWD Tools and components, prepare MWD Kit boxes for upcoming jobs, maintain and record MWD kit box inventory, bench test MWD components, segregate and prepare non-conformance components for shipment to repair.
  • Assist DD and MWD coordinators with SAP processes and procedures relating to field projects (District to Project Project to District). Create Contract, Change Contract, Project Builder, Zeam_Req, Change Order, PWEAVER, Kitting.
  • Periodically be on Call after hours weekdays and weekends. Be available to handle equipment requests after normal business hours, load and unload trucks with field equipment.
  • Perform inventory audit as required.
  • Maintain all records of maintenance and testing to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor daily usage and the purchase of parts and supplies.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Adhere to safety standards with Company HSE policies.
  • Manage work station and practice good housekeeping techniques.
  • Pursue every job with drive and determination.
  • Use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have good knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Must have good communication and managerial skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have experience in computerized environment.

Education, Experience, Certification, and Training:

  • High School Diploma required or equivalent.
  • Two to 4 years' shop technician experience preferred.
